We conduct on-site forensic evaluations for residential and light commercial structures to determine the structural integrity of the building systems, as per ASCE guidelines. As part of the evaluation process, we record floor surface elevation survey to determine the shape of the slab surface so that tilt and deflection of the foundation can be estimated. We make field observations of various types of distress involved, mainly to the super structure, due to the foundation movement and provide recommendations. We also review existing drainage conditions around the buildings to determine the probable cause of distress and other damages.
We design numerous slab-on-grade foundations, for new residential and light commercial structures. We design both conventional steel and post tension foundations for various builders in South and Central Texas. We use PTI, BRAB and WRI guidelines for various single & multi-family residential structures. In addition, we design various slab-on-grade foundations for various commercial buildings, by using IBC & ACI360 guidelines.
Design various types of foundation repair systems to re-elevate and/or stabilize the existing foundations that are affected by soil movement. Some of the common types of foundation repair systems that we design include structural steel piers involving segmental steel pipe, and structural steel helical piers. We also provide foundation repair solutions for pier and beam foundations.
Wood Framing: We perform an analysis and design of various wood structural elements (floor joists, ceiling joists, rafters, laminated beams, columns, ridge beams, hip and valley rafters, shear walls, tall walls etc.), for residential and light commercial structures, as per IRC, IBC, NDS and other applicable building codes.
Structural Steel Framing: We perform an analysis and design of various structural elements for low-rise commercial buildings. We prepare plans and specifications involving various structural steel connection details by using AISC and other applicable codes
Wall Bracing Designs
We also design wall bracing systems for various one- & two-story residential and light commercial structures, as per various applicable building codes.
